There are main 3 criteria to choose a secure platform for your online meeting:

• Is the platform or service you are planning to use offers end to end encryption: the communication must travel encrypted on the Internet and must not be decrypted at any time before arriving on your interlocutor’s computer.
• Is the platform or service you are planning to use is flagged as a tool for“activist”. Indeed, when you connect to the Internet, your Internet Service Provider can see some of the information you send. Among this information, there is the list of sites you visit. Just the name of a site or platform might alert your ISP (unless you are using a VPN)
• Does the person you are talking to already know or master the tool you are going to use?

Bluejeans: even if Bluejeans communications are encrypted, the service does not offer end-to-end encryption. For really sensitive conversations, this is eliminatory. Since March 2022, Zoom offers the possibility to activate end-to-end encryption for meetings https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360048660871-End-to-end-E2EE-encryption-for-meetings. For this to be possible, all participants must use Zoom software on their computer or smartphone and will not be able to join the meeting via telephone or using the web client (via their browser). It is also important that when you communicate the address and time of the meeting you do it via secure means, ideally Signal, Whatsapp, or in the worst case Facebook Messenger but with the option Secret conversation enabled.
